Ultrashape Contouring: liposuction without surgery
Using ultramodern technology from the Ultrashape firm and the 'Contour 1' system, localised fat can be removed without surgery for the very first time.
Developed by surgeons
Plastic surgeons have brought a brand new procedure out on the market that can definitely remove localised fat from the body without any internal procedure. Developing this device took five years, with more than six million dollars being invested in its research and development. The device was given the 'CE' European approval certificate in July 2005 in the 'medical devices' category.
No surgery
The new method, Ultra Contouring, is based on ultrasound technology.
Special focussed ultrasounds are sent through the skin's layer of fat, which get the fat cells vibrating until they burst. This happens without any kind of surgery or injections whatsoever. It can be compared to an ultrasound diagnostic, except that you have half a
litre of fat less in the zone treated after the procedure. This amounts to an average reduction in contour of 2 cm after one treatment (result of scientific tests). With a one-month interval, the patient can undergo several treatments in the same zone or in another one until the desired result has been achieved.
Safety
- Ultrasound pulses only shatter fat cells. Other tissues remain unharmed (clinically proven).
- By using special software, ultrasound pulses are only sent out within the area to be treated.
- The ultrasound pulses are monitored by an optical software system, so that it is impossible to send successive pulses to the same focus point.
- The energy of the ultrasound works exclusively in the focus point under the skin. Since it is a mechanical ultrasound procedure (vibrations), no overheating occurs that could lead to burning.
- The shattered fat cells are eliminated by the body's own immune and lymphatic system. This process lasts 2 to 3 weeks, when the result will also become visible.
Which zones can be treated?
The zones which can be treated are: belly, stomach, sides (love handles), the inside and outside of thighs. There must be a minimum layer of fat of 1,5 cm present in the area to be treated. Ultra Contouring is not a means to lose weight and cannot be used for weight loss.
A 'walk in, walk out' treatment
A session lasts 1 to 2 hours during which the patient is treated lying down. No anaesthesia or injections are used, as the treatment is completely painless. After the treatment no special care is needed, the patient can simply go on with his/her daily activities.
As of November 2005 Ultrashape treatments will be offered for the first time in the Benelux by ProBeautyClinic in Mechelen.
